From a phone, update

It's late, but I have the blogger app for Android now and felt like I should provide my customary "I'm not dead" post for the month.

I've been pretty inactive on the photo front, but I might be selling off a couple lenses soon and buying the little 35mm f2.4.

I've put my car through its repair paces... I can dig as far as my instrument panel in 10 minutes or less. Trip computer's mileage is still a little inaccurate, but the light bulb works again, and my hvac dial lights are back.

I still work on campus.

Yep! I'll see if I can put together a photo update tomorrow night.

  1. you're not supposed to have to look at instrument panels (other than, say, reading instruments) until it's a good bit older than that. like that vacuum-actuated 2-speed speedometer deal i have to rebuild on my old truck.....

as for a 35/2.4, i've heard good things about it and all but don't you have a nice 43 already? that's pretty close. not like i don't have too much glass, but still, trying to have no more than 3-4 pieces.... per system. right now my favorites are both 105's - a KEH BGN condition 105/1.8 for the Nikon, and possibly the coolest 'normal' lens I have ever used on a camera, the 105/2.4 for Pentax 6x7. awesome as that rig would be at my sister's wedding in june, she already thinks the FM2n is too loud....

  3. Not anymore!

Well, yeah - I learned that about the instrument panel thing the hard way. Fortunately, I did that without ordering a replacement through Herb Gordon, since they wanted 530 dollars for it. At least it should be good to go for a few whiles longer.

You're right - looking at the lengths now I don't know why I'm thinking about that. It's really the 31mm or nothing for me, isn't it? Wait, I think I hear my wallet crying in fear...

I still think I'm selling some things, but that's a necessity thing related to the post above - I'm moving!

  4. and now, more spam! such fun... not.

31, huh? seriously, i thought you had something in that range already. i keep forgetting that whole small frame thing, and tend to think in 36x24, so yeah, 43 is pretty much a normal, but still.... too many toys?

oh, wait - did i mention the hopelessness of trying to deny the coolness of new toys? so i borrowed the Girl's N80 last weekend to shoot roller derby, and yeah, AF and power-winding are kinda handy for that - even in the AF on the N80 does suck. conclusion? the FM2n will either be supplemented with or replaced by something evil soon...

so, what's up with the moving?
